So I am at the very start of this process. Gay wife and I decided to spit about 2 weeks ago.
I realize I am still very early in the grieving process. In someways though I've known this might be coming for longer.
There is a part of me though that really wants to get my life going again ASAP. That includes once again finding a special someone. I am also very aware that I am probably not ready for that yet. Even though there is a part of me screaming for it.
So I was just wondering how long did most people wait to start dating again and how did they know they were ready?
I realize that for every person there might be a different answer but I am curious. Also if you know any really good dating sites give them a pitch. ;D

I am a very conservative person, and so I couldn't, in good conscience, date someone else while I was still married. So, even though my gay wife had left the country in December, I didn't begin dating until the divorce was final several months later. I had signed up for some online dating sites just to look around and see what was going on, but no dates.
Also, I ended up meeting my str8 wife on Match.com, so I guess you can consider that one a good one. I was a little hesitant to go that route, but I live in a very rural area and since my wife had pretty much abandoned us, I was a full-time single dad of a 5 year old who had just started kindergarten and didn't have many opportunities to go out and try to meet people. So I decided to give Match a shot and sure enough, it worked out for me. I also checked out the free dating site OKCupid, but because it is a free site, I felt that the overall quality of it was lacking, plus there were definite scammers lurking about there. However, there are still a lot of legitimate people there as well so you might give it a shot just to see what online dating is like before you throw money at a pay site like match or eharmony.
